Earl Worley debuts with victory !
07/28/2008

One more debut, one more victory. On July 25th Earl Worley has started writing his MMA carrier. He fought in the USFL "Proving Ground" MMA show in the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut.

Earl is part of our new generation of fighters and with only one year of training at all, he managed to show us what he is capable of, tapping his opponent in 48 seconds in the 1st round via an arm-bar.

This success is part of Earl's dedication and discipline. And we are very proud of him !

In August is Brent Reed's turn to debut in the MMA pro division and Sean Haggerty in the MMA amateur. Both fighter will be in the Untamed show. ( http://www.fullforce.tv ).

Also, Dan Cramer is back training full speed. We will see him soon in the Octagon.

Congrats Earl and all the team that has been supporting our competitors !

07/28/2008

We are very help to announce that Best Way Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu will be represented in two new locations: New Milford, CT and Pawling / Petterson in New York.

Our first affiliated in the state of New York is the martial arts school USA Karate owned and operated by John Carlo.

John is the best Boxing/Karate instructor in the area and we are very proud to have him in the family. The entire BJJ program has been especially created to fit in his classes. During our weekly meetings all techniques are discussed and outlined by Luigi Mondelli and under the supervision of our Head Instructor and BWBJJ’s founder Andre Almeida.

Another reason for the success of this partnership is the fact that we share the same moment: we don't stop growing and expanding.

Our first seminar at John's school will be held on August 12th at 6:30pm. Our head coach Andre Almeida and coach Luigi Mondelli will be visiting our newest affiliated showing a lot of BJJ techniques !

Best Way BJJ / ATT Boston in the Weymouth Fire/Police Fitness Challenge
07/19/2008

Our head coach and founder Andre "Dedeco" Almeida was invited by the Town of Weymouth / MA to be part of the Weymouth Fire/Police Fitness Challenge.

In our team we already have law enforcement agents training together with our practitioners. We understand that is part of our job to help our communities with our knowledge offering seminars, workshops and being part of any activity that we may be invited to participate.

“I am very honored and happy to be able to help somehow the town and state that welcomed me and my team! These guys work hard putting their lives in the line for us and this is the minimum that our team can offer as retribution” Dedeco says.

Read here the letter from the Town of Weymouth to Best Way BJJ.

07/19/2008

Oz Pariser did it again ! He kept his perfect record adding one more victory: he is now 4-0.

This past weekend Oz defeated Luis Felix in the Reality Fighting 155lb division via submission ( gogoplata ). All the hard work training and doing all the conditioning sessions has paid off.

Oz and Felix have provided a great show to the crowd. Both fighters showed a lot of heart and will to win but at the end Oz’s skills and submission has prevailed. Oz was awarded with the "Submission of the Night" prize.

In our schedule now we will have Earl "Chuck" Worley and James Monroe doing thir debut in the event USFL in the Foxwoods Casino on July 25th. ( more info at http://www.usfightleague.com ).

Meanwhile Kenny Quon signed up to fight in the NAGA tournament in MA taking a second place

1st place - Wagner Pereira
2nd place - James Monroe

Terin and Jessi Swanson: no challenge is big enough !
07/01/2008

Jessi. Hitalo and Terin

Terin and Jessi Swanson share the same passion: facing bigger challenges in every opportunity.

Jessi fought in the last NAGA tournament in the NO-GI division for girls however as not too many girls signed up she ended up fighting two boys and one girl.

Showing the same will to win and competition spirit of her brother, Jessi submitted her opponents in three different submissions.

She is 11 years old and train with Hitalo Machado in West Haven / CT.

Terin fought in the Grapplers Quest blue belt adult division ( even been 14 years old ) and took 2nd place for the surprise of the other competitors.

They are not the future of our team anymore; they are part of the present. They are helping us to make Best Way BJJ / American Top Team one of the most dominant BJJ / MMA teams in New England.

Team takes the 1st place in the PABJJF tournament .
05/29/2008

These guys make us proud! Our team took first place in the Pennsylvania Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament that was held in Olyphant, PA.

We were represented by 13 athletes and most of them were competing for the first time. All guys have placed and everybody showed a lot of heart and determination.

The highlight of the team was Gustavo Oliveira. The 12 years old boy looked like a veteran on the mat. He won his first tournament making his parents and coaches very proud ! Thanks team for representing American Top Team and Best Way BJJ so well !

Now the team will be getting ready for the next events and challenges. Our plans includes: Grapplers Quest, Long Island Pride BJJ Championship and the next Pennsylvania State BJJ tournament.

We will keep everybody posted with the next tournaments !

Terin Swanson's last TKO.
05/29/2008

Terin Swanson is a 14 years old martial artist representing the true future of this sport. He trains Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Luigi Mondelli and Hitalo Machado, boxing at Hamden Boxing and Muay Thai with Peter Pinto.

In his last boxing fight last week, Terin managed to win by TKO in the 2nd round showing how determined he is.

Terin is a natural born competitor and fears no competition or opponent. Actually in the last BJJ tournament he fought an adult 30 pounds heavier than him with no hesitation.

Part of his success comes from all the support that his father, Phil Swanson, provides being with him in each training session in Terin's busy schedule !

We are very proud to have you in the team !

Dan Cramer wins one more in the TUF 7.
05/07/2008

Daniel Cramer member of Best Way BJJ / American Top Team made his first fight in the Ultimate Fighter 7 winning by TKO in the second round.

In this episode his was picked by Luke Zachrich as Team Forrest had the control at that time.

Read Dan's blog ( text extract from www.ufc.com ) and understand what goes on in the show told directly by him:

Dan Cramer’s TUF7 Blog –
Week FourBy Dan Cramer, Team Rampage

"I always get people telling me I don’t look like a fighter, but all the comments about being in the Abercrombie catalog and stuff like that doesn't bother me at all. It’s actually funny to For me, I just don't feel the need to get caught up in the prototypical image of a fighter. There's no problem with that sort of thing, but for me I’d rather just be treated like a normal guy outside of the gym. I don't think how I look has any effect on how I train or fight, so why would I change how I look or dress just because I’m a fighter? People will know I’m a fighter when I step into the cage. I mean I’ve heard rumors that for each tattoo someone gets, it can increase their hand speed by 20 percent so I guess I’m just missing out. Oh well."Read more here...

February 07th , 2008

The ATT Junior Champions program is an innovative children's martial arts program that was specifically designed to challenge and develop the skills of a pre-teen. This program targets the characteristics of pre-teens and utilizes those characteristics to help them develop physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually.

The best part about their development is that they are learning and developing through martial arts training. Therefore, your child will build dynamic martial arts capabilities while gaining courage and confidence, and they will learn how to think smarter and harder with children their same age. It is the best formula for success! Check out these kids working out here !

Here's how the Junior Champions Program works:

The ATT Junior program is split into beginners, advanced, and competition team. Upon completion of each series your child will have accomplished a goal that will lead them to the next. By the time your child completes the final series, he or she will earn the rank of 1st Degree Black Belt - A very high honor and accomplishment at any age.

Martial Arts are great for Children

A psychological study found that children who study martial arts have an increased sense of responsibility, a decrease in the willingness to take foolish risks, and a higher sense of self-esteem. This is why millions of parents are using martial arts to supplement their children's education.
